I'm Yara, a graphic designer from Egypt. My practice spans editorial design, exhibition work, and Arabic typography; fields where I'm usually thinking about what form does to meaning, and what it costs to translate one visual language into another.

I'm drawn to design that holds something: a sense of place, a way of reading the world that doesn't translate easily into dominant visual languages. The work is usually about finding form for that not resolving it.

At Response_Able Futures, I want to push past the self-contained design object and think seriously about what design owes to the communities and contexts it moves through. I'm bringing questions shaped by the region, and I'm curious what they become in dialogue with designers working from entirely different coordinates.
