I'm Lucas (23), a passionate designer from Fortaleza, a city in Northeast Brazil, where I earned my bachelor's degree in Design from the Federal University of Ceará. I believe meaningful design begins with deep listening and critical questioning, as I see imagination not just as a creativity but as a powerful lens to confront the urgencies of the present. For the past years I've been exploring and researching design as a tool for active social transformation, with the goal of positivetly impacting marginalized communities in Brazil. Working in different organizations and research units propelled me to design beyond dominant narratives and to center voices that are often overlooked. These experiences led me to the ResFut program, where I'll immerse myself in the healthcare context and explore how design can respond to socially complex challenges.

Academically, I aim to expand my journey of seeking knowledge from the margins, while also engaging with decolonial, Global South perspectives. Outside of work, I love reading, listening to a good electronic album, biking, going to the gym and watching thriller films, these are ways I care for my body and mind while staying curious about the world around me. I'm super excited for the program to start, and I hope to have a blast meeting my peers :-)
