Hi! I’m Haika. I am a Visual Communication Designer / Illustrator from Pakistan. Although I’ve gained a lot of practical skills on that front, with a primary focus on design for advertising and the fin-tech space, I am now ready to move beyond the general and specialize to make a truly impactful contribution to the society around me.

Working in the real-world, I gained an ever-growing awareness both as a person and an emerging designer. I decided I wanted to utilise my skills to lead to positive change, but on a wider scale.Therefore I joined the SDG fellowship, where I designed a project tackling healthcare literacy for rural communities in Pakistan.

This experience only further reinforced my belief that design shouldn’t only be about solutions/deliverables but must also incorporate empathy, ethics, and the diverse lived experiences of those around me. Now, I wish to combine these ideals with my future education at Response_Able Futures to create tangible societal impact with my designs.

Outside of work, I love listening to podcasts, illustrating/drawing, crocheting and since I enjoy learning about other people’s perspective on things, I am also part of a book club. I’m really excited to be part of the program and can't wait to meet everyone!
