Esther Kähne
My name is Esther, and I am a UX designer from Germany with a passion for using digital solutions to improve accessibility and create better experiences within essential services and public infrastructure. I enjoy combining my intercultural experiences, systemic thinking, and user advocacy to design solutions that genuinely address people’s needs.
I joined ResFut because my original career aspiration was to work in healthcare. Although my path eventually led me into design, I have always stayed connected to this first passion through my voluntary work as a youth worker and paramedic. I see this master’s program as an opportunity to build a unique profile at the intersection of design, technology, and healthcare — with the goal of contributing to solutions that make people’s lives better.
Throughout my career, I have gained experience as a paramedic, project assistant in a design competition, and for around eight years in the automotive industry. During this time, I completed an apprenticeship as a visual media designer and later earned a Bachelor of Science in UX Design from the University of Applied Sciences Ingolstadt. My studies, research, and professional experiences have taken me to Warsaw, France, Canada, Mexico, and Australia, where I was fortunate to learn from different cultures and perspectives.
Beyond my professional work, I dedicate much of my time to volunteering in various projects, associations, and initiatives. I also enjoy travelling, hiking, cooking and challenging myself through endurance sports such as marathon and triathlon training.
