Aasma Qureshi
Hi, I'm Aasma, a communication designer and educator from Pakistan. My work spans visual communication, social impact, interactive experiences, and educational initiatives. Over the years, I have worked on projects ranging from mental health awareness campaigns and digital learning experiences to interactive concepts exploring health and wellbeing. Alongside practice, I mentor undergraduate students and supervise thesis work, which keeps my process grounded in collaboration and research.
My design journey started in 2012 when I randomly decided to design a book cover. Looking back, it was terrible: a PNG of Ashley Benson pasted onto a bright turquoise background with cursive type that was almost impossible to read. At the time, I was incredibly proud of it.
What mattered wasn't how good it was but how much I enjoyed making it. That small experiment became the beginning of something I never expected. More than a decade later, I am still chasing the same feeling of curiosity and still grateful I gave it a try.
Outside of design, you'll usually find me watching documentaries, illustrating, reading thrillers, or obsessing over 2D animation.
I'm excited to be part of the Response_Able Futures program and I look forward to learning from people across disciplines, discovering where these conversations might lead.
Design, for me, is a way to reflect people as they are. Sometimes brave, sometimes melancholic but mostly all shades of gray.
